For the second time in six months, the Information Systems Examination
Board (ISEB) has agreed to certify people who are successful on an Ultracomp
accredited training course. The Network Services Management course was launched
in February 1997 and follows in the footsteps of Ultracomp's Business and
Management skills course, for which ISEB also certifies people.
Colin Rudd, chief networking consultant, Ultracomp, explained: "In
the context of service management disciplines, the course investigates the
relationship between network management and service management and the value
that each brings to the business function. In particular it examines management
of data, voice and multimedia network and networks services. At Ultracomp we
have extensive experience of providing training courses specific to IT
management and this experience is reflected in the excellent pass rates and the
widespread recognition of our qualifications."
The course has been devised by Ultracomp, the UK's leading provider of
service management software and services, to develop the skills of IT
professionals who are involved in the management of networks and network staff.
It is the only accredited course of its type in the UK and it offers a
professional qualification that is recognised throughout the IT industry.
Following the success of the Ultracomp's ISEB accredited courses,
Ultracomp's Dutch distributor, Syntegra, is now running the Network Services
Management course in conjunction with StictingEXIN, the Dutch examination
foundation, where the early indications are that the course is set for the same
success.
Ian Thomson, director, ISEB, said: "ISEB and EXIN are both working on
this new qualification. We hope the highly successful pilot scheme in the UK
earlier this year will be matched in the Netherlands."
Rudd concludes: "The continuing success of these courses through the
participation of companies like Ultracomp is confirming the value of training
which provides qualifications that have European appeal."
